Introduction to role:

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of global partnerships and stakeholder relations? As the Senior Manager, Global Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations, you will be at the forefront of advancing AstraZeneca's partner relations. Collaborating closely with the Director, Global Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations, you will drive the delivery of strategic platforms and engagements, both globally and multilaterally. Your role will be pivotal in fostering external partner engagement and enhancing internal capabilities across AstraZeneca's priorities.

The role will report to the Global Head of Sustainability Corporate Affairs, Global Partnerships & Chair’s Office, whose team is accountable for our group-level external and internal communications, policy and public affairs on the sustainability agenda, as well as the delivery of global platforms and partnerships, including the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) Health Systems Task Force, World Economic Forum (WEF), COP and Climate Weeks, the UN General Assembly, as well as multi-stakeholder programmes and engagement including with the World Health Organization.

To be successful in this role, you will develop strong, trusted partnerships with a variety of collaborators, both internal and external. You have solid knowledge in the field of healthcare and sustainability, curiosity about current affairs, politics and policy, and an ability to upskill quickly on new areas. You are also passionate about collaborating with and supporting diverse teams and colleagues around the world to enhance the strategic value and impact of partnerships and partner engagements. You are as hardworking as we are about our work, have an ambitious mentality and a validated ability to solve problems in an agile, inclusive way.

Accountabilities:

  • Support best-in-class delivery of key global platforms (e.g. World Economic Forum, World Health Assembly, UN General Assembly, COP, Climate Week) to strengthen key collaborator relationships, advance our enterprise priorities and drive a leading corporate reputation. This will include programmatic, planning and content support, collaborator engagement and outreach before, during and after the engagements, logistics support, coordination with key markets involved

  • Co-lead and support key regional platforms (e.g. Boao Forum for Asia, Abu Dhabi Health Week) where there is Senior Executive Team and/or Chair engagement to ensure high-quality delivery with a cross-functional approach

  • Support fundamental global partnerships, including the SMI Health System Task Force chaired by AstraZeneca’s CEO, to ensure a consistent, effective corporate affairs approach and pull-through of recommendations in key markets

  • Support first-class communications for core programmes including internal and external communications and liaison with media as relevant

  • Support internal senior leader briefings on a number of topics, both in written, presentational and verbal form

  • Support standard process sharing across global /regional / therapy area / local platforms to ensure an integrated, strategic approach to platforms across the enterprise, including through the consistent delivery of the SET meetings and events guidebook and in supporting follow-up to optimise future engagement opportunities

  • Provide strategic insights and guidance to Global Corporate Affairs function, incl. on critical success factors and measurement to ensure delivery of goals and enable the continuous improvement and professionalisation of global platforms and partnerships

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key partners, advocates and influencers to protect, cultivate and build the corporate reputation of the business

  • Handle external agency relationships, as vital

  • Oversee budgets for flagship global platforms and partnerships

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working in corporate affairs, communications, government affairs or policy, with demonstrated results within a leading company, agency, government or NGO

  • Strong program management skills for multi-stakeholder, complex programmes

  • Excellent writing skills and experience communicating complex strategic issues, translating them into concise messaging and briefings

  • Strategic problem solver and ability to comprehend complex matters and chart a clear path forward, with both hybrid and in-person meetings, engagements and platforms

  • Ability to communicate optimally with leaders, peers, and a variety collaborators

  • Highly skilled in producing and applying data, analytics and insights to drive continuous improvement

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize accordingly

  • Eagerness and ability to collaborate with and mobilise different people and organisations

  • Genuine interest in and passion for healthcare, innovation and sustainability

  • Interest in healthcare and current external affairs

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Healthcare or Sustainability sector experience

  • Experience in a global organization or agency working in a fast-paced environment handling multiple, complex priorities 

  • Strong existing network and ability to build impactful partnerships 

  • Experience working in a global organisation

  • Strong academic track record
